We have wonderful news to share! Child Development Resources is pleased to announce the success and completion of our 50th Anniversary Campaign.
“We set a campaign goal of $1 million to help us celebrate our 50th anniversary and prepare for the future. Reaching this goal is an accomplishment, and we are thankful for everyone who helped make it happen,” said Paul Scott, CDR’s Executive Director.
The campaign, which kicked off in September 2015, was achieved through the dedicated support of long-time donors, as well as many new donors who support the agency’s mission of serving babies and toddlers with special needs, developmental delays, or other challenges.
“We live in a community that knows the importance of early intervention and is willing to make it a priority. Because of the community’s support, we can begin planning for another 50 years of important therapies, services and trainings,” said Scott.
In addition to the Community Day kickoff event in September 2015, CDR published a book about the agency’s first fifty years entitled Celebrating a Vision: A 50-Year History of CDR, revamped and redesigned the non-profit’s website, cdr.org, designed an anniversary logo, and held a 50th Anniversary Gala at Kingsmill in October 2016. Local artist and photographer Kathy Hornsby created and donated a painting to celebrate CDR’s anniversary milestone. The painting, Growing with Love, greets visitors at CDR’s main office in Norge.
“The whole point of a milestone anniversary is to have fun and enjoy it with your friends and supporters. We did that and are truly thankful for all the support our community has bestowed upon CDR,” said Mary Jean Hurst, CDR’s Director of Development. “We are also extremely grateful to our 50th campaign co chairs, Charles Crone and Louise Canfield.”
CDR serves babies and toddlers to help ensure that all children reach their full potential. For more information, call CDR at 757-566-TOTS, or visit cdr.org.
