CDR supports fathers through its family-centered approach to services.
Children are more likely to lead healthy, successful lives when both their mother and father are actively involved in their lives in positive ways. A father’s presence matters!
Our free Fatherhood programs support dads and families with one-on-one and group assistance with parenting, relationships, health, employment, money matters, and personal growth opportunities. We want to help you by providing support on your path to becoming a stronger father figure in a child’s life.
Fathers and fathers-to-be looking for support, mentorship improving parenting skills, money skills and more.
Engaging children’s fathers or other key male figures is essential for success.

24/7 Dads is a series of parenting workshops designed for dads and led by CDR’s Fatherhood Program. Join dads like you to expand your parenting toolkit and discover what works best for you and your family. We’ll discuss your goals when it comes to parenting, career, and finances!
CDR’s Rookie Dads program trains expectant dads to be involved in the care of their new baby. The free, two-hour class gives men a chance to gather with other men to talk about what to expect from their new role; discuss concerns; and learn about feeding, diapering, bathing, and sleeping techniques in a safe, supportive environment.

Management and Communication
Need help finding a job, writing a resume, or interviewing? Are you lacking the skills you need to land a good paying job? Interested in working towards your GED? Let us help you work towards improving your job skills, finding a better paying job, or getting linked to community resources.
Are you living paycheck-to-paycheck? Perhaps you just wish you had more money for little extras. We will provide group trainings on money management and one-on-one assistance with goal setting and action steps to get you on your way to greater financial stability.
Other Support Services
Through our relationships with community partners, we can help link you to resources that help meet your needs in areas such as Adult Literacy, Effects of Trauma on Children, Child Development Milestones and Development, Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Abuse Services, Child Support Enforcement, and more.
Funding for this project is also provided through Child Development Resources’ Investing in Fatherhood: New Pathways program and is supported by funds through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families, Grant #90FK0107-01-00. These services are available to all persons regardless of race, gender, age, disability, or religion. Participation in these services is voluntary.
To achieve engagement, a Fatherhood Specialist, himself a dad, works in partnership with a CDR Family Consultant to involve, educate, and empower fathers on how to be a positive force in their child’s life. Many of the families enrolled in CDR are parented by single moms. The Fatherhood Specialist helps both mothers and fathers navigate the dynamics of their relationship so that the whole family benefits. If the child’s father is not available, CDR staff work with the mother to help her identify a strong male role model to help meet the child’s needs.
