Our ProgramsFirst Steps
Programs that encourage children to be curious and creative as they learn about the world around them.
If any organization knows how to collaborate for the greater good, it’s CDR — and the two First Steps Child Care & Development Centers are examples of collaboration at its best. Located at the Griffin-Yeates Center in York County and at Lafayette High School in James City County, First Steps Centers offer high-quality child care for low-income families whose parents are working, in school, or in job training. There very young children play, grow, and learn in cheerful, stimulating classrooms of children, two highly qualified, caring teachers, and an aide.
